Sports Injury Treatment

My training in Pathology, Orthopaedic Assessment and Anatomy combined with my knowledge of Advanced Bodywork Techniques, Rehabilitation Exercise and Sports Massage means I am able to give a better, more rounded approach to injury treatment. I am able to get to the ‘root cause’ of your injury and advise you how you can best avoid its re-occurrence. Many of my clients have found that combining Sports Massage with bodywork techniques (such as Myofascial Release,Ultrasound Therapy and a stretching/strengthening programme offers superior results to massage or rehabilitation exercise alone!

I can address a wide range of sports injuries such as strains, sprains, shin splints, tennis/golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff injury, back injury, whiplash, tendonitis & jogger’s knee. Please note, if you have just injured yourself it is important to follow P-RICE (protect, rest, ice, compression, elevation) treatment for the first 2-3 days before having ‘hands-on’ treatment (see general health advice pdf). Anti-inflammatories may also be indicated, ask a doctor or pharmacist! I have helped clients involved in many sports including football, running, hockey, netball, rugby, martial arts, golf, athletics, cricket, cycling, tennis and racket sports.
